Community Outreach
The People of Lake Pointe are currently developing strategic community mission relationships
through Life Groups and serving teams. These relationships are developed through
consistent prayer, generous giving, and faithfully going on location to serve.
Below are a list of partnership information.
Join our ministry as we save people's lives! We are looking for people to join our
team to help us get ready for the three blood drives Lake Pointe hosts each year.
Opportunities to serve include:
Prepare for each drive
Work at weekend booths between services to sign people up
Volunteer at the Blood Drive
And, of course, give blood personally!

to purchase and/or service their own vehicle. Participate by donating vehicles for
use in this ministry or by volunteering your services.

Lake Pointe operates a year-round food pantry to assist members of the church and
community who are in need of occasional assistance with food. The Benevolence Director
and numerous Life Groups assist in keeping the closet well-stocked and clean.

Men are invited to join with Gideons to promote the spreading of the Gospel by personal
witnessing and by distributing Bibles to schools, hospitals, and motels in the Lake
Ray Hubbard community.

This ministry provides assistance to senior adults and single mothers by helping
with household projects they are not able to complete on their own. This includes minor
home repairs, replacing light bulbs that cannot be reached, changing air conditioner
filters, and other small projects.

Team needs members with a passion to help job seekers get connected with information,
resources and job opportunities through Job Connection's weekly meetings, LPUs and
resource room. In addition, we need anyone with information about employment opportunities
to email it to one of the addresses below in order to share these jobs with the
group. Volunteers are needed as mentors, online job search assistants, and data
entry assistants.

Motorcycle ministry rides together the third Sunday of each month. Meet in Annex
A immediately following the 11:00 service. Ongoing opportunities for ministry involvement
are also available through Lake Pointe Riders throughout the year.

Volunteers needed to address the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the
residents of this community. Serving opportunities include: Bible study facilitators
(children and adult), ESL team members (no certificate required), life skill instructors
(any topic that would benefit the community), medical professionals for health prevention
seminars, and homework tutors for after-school programs. Serving opportunities for
Life Groups, families, and individuals.

community. Numerous opportunities are available for all ages and levels of experience.

The center provides encouragement and counseling to women experiencing an unplanned
pregnancy. Members are needed to serve in various areas: counseling and support
groups, prenatal classes, mentoring, general office assistance, prayer chain, and
more. Donations are welcome: diapers, baby wipes, new infant car seats, money, cribs
& mattresses and infant swings.

Established in 2004, this church in Arlington focuses on reaching African immigrants in the DFW area. Although Pastor Kwaku Adu-Wasu and many of the members are from Ghana, they have a diverse congregation representing many African countries.

Those inmates who successfully complete the mentoring program and do not have viable options for the future are eligible to apply for our Aftercare Ministry. This team provides a safe place to live, assistance in re-establishing their lives, a connection with a local church, and a structured program for discipleship, encouragement, and accountability.

Worship for women is Monday morning, and worship for men is Monday afternoon. Volunteer
to join the worship service and be available to minister to inmates, or become a
pen pal for inmates who may not receive mail from family or friends. Bibles, devotionals,
and other Christian literature are needed.

Mentor Teams
The Men's Dawson Mentor Team meets at the Dawson State Jail every second Saturday
of the month for an hour of group Bible Study and an hour of one-on-one mentoring.
Women’s Dawson Mentor Team also meets one Saturday each month. Team members are
currently needed.

Aftercare
Life Groups help is needed to provide new sock, undergarments, toiletries, used
clothing, and other basic items as well as bus passes for this aftercare ministry.
